Manchester United manager, Jose Mourinho has said winning the Europa League, is a perfect end to a “very difficult season”.
United beat Ajax on Wednesday night in Stockholm 2-0 to win the trophy and qualify for the Champions League, thanks to goals from Paul Pogba and Henrikh Mkhitaryan.
Mourinho admits it was a comfortable win for his team and says he preferred winning the Europa than finishing fourth in the premier League.
“It is the end of a very difficult season but a very very good season, we preferred this way to finishing 4th.
“This title closes the lot. We have fought hard since the beginning of the competition, we always felt we could win it.
“We won it in a comfortable way against a very good team, we were always in control.
“There are lots of poets in football but poets don’t win many titles. If you want to press us high, then we won’t play short”, he said.
